A prototype knee brace design for osteoarthritis, considering future manufacturing technologies (3D printing) to create a medical device with more aesthetic appeal. A team design project for the 'Peacocks Medical Group'. The knee brace incorporates a brand principle of 'NET' ( Natural, Evolution, Technology ). Considering real life pattern and design in nature and the strong contrast with modern day industrial development. Design consideration and focus has been given to the body elements of a knee brace- anthropometrics and ergonomic fit around the thigh and lower leg. An existing hinge system can be applied although further design development is being looked into creating an improved hinge system that replicates the knee joint.
